Why expat-specific?

BPJS isn't built for you.

If something serious happens in Bali or Lombok, you'll likely be evacuated to Singapore. Local plans don't fund that.

01
Singapore evacuation
Bali's top hospitals can stabilise — but complex care often means Mt. Elizabeth or Raffles. Expat plans cover the medevac (USD 30k+) and the bill once you arrive.
02
English everywhere
From the claims hotline at 3am to the partner agent helping you renew — full English service. No back-translating WhatsApp messages mid-emergency.
03
Worldwide cover
Visit family in Europe, work trip in Bangkok, weekend in Singapore — covered everywhere except the US (separate add-on).

Same 4 plans as our comparison table. Starting prices are indicative entry-level premiums from public insurer pages — the real premium depends on your age, plan level and underwriting. No insurer pays for its position in this list.

InsuranceIndo is a comparison platform, not an insurer or broker. Figures are indicative; the final premium comes from the licensed insurer after underwriting. We may earn a fee from partners — how we make money.

Common questions.

I'm on a tourist visa / not yet KITAS. Can I get covered? +
Yes — Cigna, IMG, and several others sell to anyone regardless of residency status. Premiums are slightly higher without KITAS but cover is identical. You'll need a passport and proof of address.
Will my plan pay for Singapore evacuation? +
Every plan listed includes emergency medical evacuation — worldwide on most, Asia-regional on Pacific Cross. Air-ambulance evacuation typically runs USD 30,000–60,000, and treatment in Singapore then counts against your annual limit. Check the evacuation wording before you rely on it.
Do I need US cover? +
Only if you travel to the US for >30 days/year. US cover roughly doubles your premium. Most expats in Asia exclude the US and buy a separate trip-by-trip travel plan when they visit.
What's the difference vs my home-country insurance? +
Home-country plans usually treat Indonesia as "out of network" with reduced cover and slow reimbursement. International expat plans pay the hospital directly via local cashless networks — the practical difference is huge during an emergency.
Can I include my spouse and kids? +
Usually — most international plans offer family cover. As a rule of thumb a spouse costs a large share of the main premium and each child noticeably less, but it varies by insurer; ask for the family rate when you request quotes.
